Location: Main Engineering- USS Hephaistos

Seamus went back to the Hephaistos after meeting with the Quartermaster in a pub on the Station. He didn't feel like heading home yet, so he started to wander the corridors of the ship with no particular destination in mind. He'd been onboard for quite awhile now, but was still awed by the sheer size of the H. After an hour of wandering aimlessly, he decided to see about meeting with Ensign Hunter to touch base with him.

=/\= MacDonald to Hunter, are you available for a quick meeting? I just wanted to run through some items to get ready for our next mission. =/\=

Simon had been working on the console that was near to the main door, after all he hadn't had time to tell anyone of his move to Engineering, He tapped his combadge and replied,=/\= Yes I am Lieutenant, =/\= as he started to replace some of the circuits that hadn't been done since the last time the ship was on R & R. He continued, =/\= But I'm not where you think I am, =/\=

=/\= Oh? Where can I meet you Ensign? =/\= Seamus replied unable to hide his confusion.

=/\= just look for a pair of legs sticking out from Under a console in Main Engineering,=/\= replied Simon as the circuit board was having to be replaced as the one that had been fitted before they had docked back at the Station. He continued,=/\= And do me a favour Seamus will you?=/\=

Seamus’ confusion only increased. ~ What would a Strat Ops Officer be doing under a console in Engineering? ~ he thought to himself before responding. =/\= Of course, name it. =/\=

=/\= bring me a coffee down will you, =/\= as he knew that after the replacement works had been carried out that he would have to start a level 1 diognostic and then a Level 2 Diognostic to make sure the links that were in place.

=/\= You got it, I’m on my way down. =/\=

Striding into Engineering, Seamus started looking for Simon. He forgot to look down as he turned a corner and almost tripped over Simon’s legs. He quickly regained his footing and surprisingly didn’t spill any of the coffee he’d grabbed for the good Ensign. “Ensign Hunter, I presume?” He asked.

"Yep, It is me old chap," replied Simon and if you are wondering why I am not in Strat Ops," he stated, as he began to slide himself from underneath the console, He finished," The Captain transferred me here as it was only a temporary position that needed filling for that Mission," He thought oO At least I could have held on to it a bit longer, Oo as he looked back at Seamus.

Seamus nodded in understanding. “Makes sense. I had planned to discuss what assets would be available to us on our next mission, but that’s for someone else.” Seamus said as he handed the coffee over to Simon. “Since you’re down here, now, I’ll ask for a maintenance team to repair the Items in Security’s gym that some overzealous members of my team may have overused.”

"Oh god what have they done and how bad is it?" asked Simon as he knew that the work had started to pile up and that his teams had been over worked the last few days, He himself hadn't had a day off to see the base let alone relax. as he picked up the Coffee, He said," I know Isobella is still in Strat ops,"

Seeing Simon's reaction, Seamus suddenly felt guilty for adding repairs to a department that appeared somewhat busy. "My team tends to work and train hard, unfortunately that means some equipment gets damaged or destroyed. My team can do the heavy lifting involved in replacing the equipment, however I'll need your team for the actual install and repair to the other items. I'll forward you a list of everything we need. There are only a few items I consider important enough for quick repairs, the rest can be done as your team becomes available after leaving the station as long as we grab the parts while docked."

"Right, Ok," replied Simon, as he took another sip of the hot Beverage, He continued," then they do the heavy lifting and if the team who breaks it has to help my teams repair it ," as he looked back at the Chief Security Officer, he finished," Does that not sound fair?" as he posed the Question.

"That's definitely fair, thank you Ensign." Seamus replied with a smile. "And if you guys need any help down here, please don't hesitate to ask."

"Well, Now you mention it," replied Simon as he looked back at Seamus, "I could do with some extra bods to help out here and there," as he knew that it might help release the pressure on the teams so that some of them could get some sleep, and proper sleep at that. since the CEO hadn't arrived yet.

"You got it. I know a few of the people in my team have some basic engineering knowledge, I'll have them report to you first thing tomorrow. I'll also send you a few folks who are known for their strength to help out moving stuff."

"Thanks Seamus, that would be a good help as some of my lads," he stated taking a sip once more of the coffee, He continued, " Haven't had much sleep since we docked," as he put the cup down on top of the console next to him.

“Understandable. They’re yours for as long as you need. Well, I’ve taken up enough of your time, Ensign. I’ll see you around.” Seamus said.

"Thanks again Seamus for the help," replied Simon as he watched the Security Officer leave Engineering, He thought oO I wonder how long these guys can take, Oo as he looked round the room seeing team leaders look tired as the next shift started to arrive. as Simon tapped in the commands to start the first diagnostic.
