| Personal History | Seamus was born on the USS Manchester where his father served as the Executive Officer and was the oldest of 4 boys. His brothers were all your typical fleet brats and acted out whenever they had the chance. Because of this, Seamus spent the majority of his youth breaking up fights when they arose and acted as diplomat, finding a resolution that made all parties happy. It was obvious to his father and grandfather that he was not only diplomatic, but also adept at keeping the peace. They both encouraged him to enhance his skills by reading him into any mission they were on, leaving out only he most classified details that they couldn't share. By the time he turned 16, they did not hesitate to provide recommendation letters to his application to Starfleet Academy. While at the Academy, Seamus flew through his courses with ease thanks to what his father and grandfather taught him. When he saw the physical training centre, he decided to start working out so that he had more than just his height to aid him during hand to hand combat. The one thing he struggled with early on was his marksmanship. Once his homework and PT was completed, the firing range was his home away from home until he was able to hit whatever he was aiming at, regardless of the size of or distance from his target. During his final year at the Academy, Seamus decided that he wanted to start his career on a station as opposed to a starship. He considered himself lucky when he was assigned to DS7 as it was his first choice of assignments. When he arrived at his assignment, CMDR Jackson made it quite clear that his connections would not be of any help to him as he had to prove him to be his own officer regardless of who his father and grandfather were. That was perfect for Seamus as he did not want to ride their coat tails. It did not take long for him to prove himself on DS7 where he was promoted to Assistant Security Chief and than Security Chief within his first year with a promotion to LT(jg) 6 months later. |
